Shellatiشلّتي

The gam'eya you already run — with a record nobody can change.

Friends, family, colleagues. Fixed amount, agreed turns, a signed contract, and every "paid" and "received" written down. You pay each other. Shellati never touches the money.

Three steps a month. Nothing new to learn.

It works the way a gam'eya always has. The app only makes sure the agreement, the order and the payments are written down where everyone can see them.

  1. Start it and invite your people

Set the amount, the months and the pay day. Send a link to people you know. Everyone in the circle says whether they know each newcomer — nobody joins on a stranger's word.

  2. Agree the turns, sign once

Each member picks three preferred months. Reputation picks first, ties by a recorded lottery, and everyone sees exactly why they got their month. Then one contract, signed by all.

  3. Pay as you always do, then tap

Cash, InstaPay, Vodafone Cash — whatever you use. The payer taps "I paid", the receiver taps "received". Late is late, on time is on time, and it goes on your record.

One app, three ways to pool money.

Same ledger, same reputation. Different rules for different occasions.

Trust comes from people, not from a score.

A gam'eya works because everyone knows someone in it. Shellati keeps that rule and adds a memory.

Everyone vouches, privately

When someone new joins, each member answers one question in private. If anyone says no — or stays silent for two days — the newcomer needs a trusted member to guarantee them.

A guarantor carries real weight

If the person you vouched for is late, your own turn moves to the end. If they don't pay, their installment moves to you. One level only — nobody vouches for a guarantor.

Reputation follows you

"Committed 23 of 24." On time, late, didn't pay — written once a month, visible to any circle that invites you. Someone who left a debt behind can't join a new circle until it's settled.

Shellati never holds your money.

There is no wallet and no balance. Money moves between members the way it always has — in cash, by InstaPay, by bank transfer. What Shellati keeps is the record:

  • the contract, signed by everyone and sealed with a hash
  • every "paid", "received", late mark and decision, timestamped and chained
  • the circle's chat, kept with the record so a dispute has evidence

Kept for five years after the circle closes. Members can open it; a court order gets the contract and the ledger, nothing else.

Two minutes, start to finish.

Questions people ask.

Is this a bank or a lender?

No. Shellati is a ledger. It never holds, moves or lends money, takes no fee on payments and has no wallet. It records what people who know each other agreed and did.

What if someone doesn't pay?

If they have a guarantor, the installment moves to the guarantor. If not, the organizer chooses — in the open — to split the gap among the rest, to cover it, or to pay out less that month. Either way it is recorded, the debt is recorded, and the person can't join another circle until it is settled.

Can a stranger join my circle?

Only through a link from an existing member, and only if the members say they know them — or a trusted member guarantees them. There is no public directory and no public links.

Who can see my phone number?

Only people in a circle with you. Your profile — name, photo, city, reputation — is shown to circles that invite you. Nothing is public.

Does it work outside Egypt?

Yes. Each circle picks a culture pack: what the circle is called, the currency, the usual pay day, how people pay. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Pakistan and the United States are the first.

What does it cost?

Nothing while we build, and never a percentage of the money. Help cases stay free for good.
