Terms of use
1. What you are using
Shellati is a record-keeping tool. It lets people who know each other organise a rotating savings circle, a one-off pool or a help case, agree the terms, and record who paid and who received. Shellati is not a bank, a payment service, a money transmitter, a lender or a charity. It never holds, moves, lends or guarantees money, and it takes no fee on any payment between members.
2. The money is between you
Every payment happens outside the app, between members, by whatever means they choose. Spinnex LLC is not a party to any circle, pledge or contract made in the app, does not guarantee that any member will pay, and is not liable for amounts owed between members. The record the app keeps is yours, to use between yourselves.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and use your real name, a real photo of yourself, and your own phone number — one account per person.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account. Keep your sign-in codes to yourself.
- An account with an unsettled debt recorded in a circle cannot join new circles until the creditor marks it settled.
4. What you agree to when you join a circle
- Other members will say, privately, whether they know you. If not everyone does, you need a trusted member to guarantee you, or you are not added.
- In a gam'eya you sign one contract for the whole circle. After that there is no leaving; a replacement needs the organizer and a guarantor.
- Late is late: after the pay day plus the grace period. "Didn't pay" is recorded after the further period in the contract. Both are written to your reputation, which any circle that invites you can see.
- If you guarantee someone and they are late, your turn moves last; if they don't pay, their installment becomes yours to pay, and a debt from them to you is recorded.
- If someone doesn't pay and has no guarantor, the organizer decides — split, cover, or reduced payout — and the decision is recorded for everyone to see.
- The circle's chat is part of the record and may be used as evidence between members in a dispute. Messages cannot be edited or deleted; they can be hidden, and the text stays in the record.
- Pledges in pools and help cases can be raised but not lowered, and are due by the deadline plus the grace period.
5. What is not allowed
- Using Shellati to run a business of lending, collecting or investing other people's money, or anything that needs a licence in your country.
- Help cases for people you do not personally know, or for a cause rather than a person. Larger needs belong with a licensed charity.
- False identities, duplicate accounts, or entering payments that did not happen.
- Harassment, threats or abuse in a circle chat.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. The circle's record stays with the circle.
6. The service
Shellati is free while it is being built and may change. We will give notice in the app before a change that affects how circles work. We work to keep the service available and the record intact, but we provide it as it is, and our liability to you is limited to what the law does not allow us to exclude. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes rights your law gives you.
7. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, unless the law where you live says otherwise. Questions: [email protected].
